Steam Guard is two-factor authentication (2FA) for your Steam account. It's essential — without it, your account, games, and skins are vulnerable to phishing and theft. It also enables instant trades (without the 15-day hold).

1. Install the Steam mobile app (iOS/Android)
2. Log in with your Steam credentials
3. Tap Menu (☰) → Steam Guard
4. Tap "Add Authenticator"
5. Enter the SMS code sent to your phone number
6. Write down the Recovery Code (stores safely — you need this if you lose your phone)
7. Steam Guard is now active — you'll get a rotating code every 30 seconds
