Halo: Campaign Evolved Skulls Guide — All Skulls, Effects & Co-Op Tips (2026)

Skulls are optional gameplay modifiers hidden throughout Halo: Campaign Evolved's levels. Once found, they can be activated from the campaign menu to alter combat in fun, challenging, or chaotic ways. Some make the game harder, others add hilarious effects. Skulls combined with Legendary difficulty creates the ultimate challenge: LASO (Legendary All Skulls On).

SkullEffectDifficulty IronDeath restarts the entire mission (no checkpoints). In co-op, if one player dies, both restart.🔴 Very Hard Black EyeShields only recharge when you melee enemies. • "Maximum Fun" — Bandana + Boom + Grunt Birthday Party = infinite ammo, massive explosions, confetti everywhere. Pure chaos.
• "Challenge Run" — Iron + Fog + Famine = no checkpoints, no radar, half ammo. Genuinely terrifying on Heroic+.
• "LASO" — Legendary + ALL difficulty skulls (Iron, Black Eye, Catch, Fog, Famine, Thunderstorm, Tilt, Mythic, Tough Luck). The hardest possible way to play. Expect 20+ hours to complete.

Co-Op Options

• 2-Player Splitscreen — Console only (Xbox Series X|S, PS5). Same screen, same couch.
• 4-Player Online Co-Op — Xbox, PS5 and PC. Full crossplay between all platforms.
• Shared Progression — Progress earned in co-op carries over to your solo save.
• Armor Customization — Each player can wear unique armor skins in co-op. First time in Halo campaign.

Co-Op Tips

• Stagger your deaths. If Iron skull is off, when one player dies they respawn after a delay. Keep at least one player alive at all times.
• Split weapons. Player 1 takes Magnum + Sniper (precision), Player 2 takes Shotgun + AR (close-range). Cover each other's weaknesses.
• Vehicle coordination. One drives the Warthog, one guns the turret. The gunner deals 90% of the damage — the driver keeps the car alive.
• Legendary co-op is harder. Enemy health scales up in co-op. Bring your A-game.
• Communication wins. Call out Elite positions, grenade throws, and flank opportunities. Halo rewards teamwork.
