Your Journey Begins
Warband drops you into medieval Calradia with almost nothing — a horse, a weapon, and a dream. No quest markers, no hand-holding, no clear objectives. This guide gives you the roadmap from nobody peasant to King of Calradia.
📋 Phase 1 — Build a Warband (Days 1-30)
- Hunt bandits — Sea Raiders, Forest Bandits, Mountain Bandits. Sell their loot for gold and level up troops.
- Win tournaments — Enter every tournament you find. Bet max on yourself. Renown + gold.
- Recruit from villages — build up to 50+ troops.
- Visit taverns — hire companions (heroes) who never die and level up with unique skills.
💰 Phase 2 — Establish Income (Days 30-100)
- Buy a productive enterprise in a town (Velvet Weavery in Rivacheg, Brewery in Praven). Passive income 500+ denars/week.
- Trade — buy iron from Curaw, sell in Jelkala. Buy salt from Wercheg, sell south.
- Become a mercenary — join a faction as a mercenary for steady pay.
⚔️ Phase 3 — Vassal & Conquest (Days 100+)
- Swear fealty to a king → receive fiefs → fight in their wars
- Improve relations with lords — help them in battles, release captured lords for honor
- When strong enough → rebel and form your own kingdom or support a claimant
🎯 Essential Character Build
- Best stats: Strength (melee damage/HP), Agility (speed), Charisma (party size + persuasion)
- Best skills: Leadership (bigger army), Surgery (troops survive), Prisoner Management (capture lords), Trade (more profit)
- Best weapon: One-handed + shield for safety, Two-handed for damage, Bow for ranged dominance
