Becoming King of Calradia

Creating your own kingdom is Bannerlord's ultimate goal. But rushing it is the #1 mistake — you need clan tier, gold, troops, and political preparation. This guide covers the step-by-step path to founding and managing a successful kingdom.

📌 Beginner Guide | Factions | Cheats

🏦

📋 Requirements

  • Clan Tier 4 (300+ renown) — minimum to create a kingdom
  • Own at least 1 fief (castle or town) — either conquered independently or taken after leaving a faction
  • Complete the "Dragon Banner" quest line — talk to Istiana or Arzagos about the banner (this is optional but gives legitimacy)
  • 500,000+ gold recommended — you'll need to recruit lords and pay army wages
💎

🏰 Step-by-Step

  1. Reach Clan Tier 4 — fight battles, win tournaments, complete quests for renown
  2. Build an army of 150+ troops — you'll need to siege a castle or town
  3. Leave your current faction (if a vassal) — you'll keep any fiefs assigned to you
  4. Siege and capture a settlement independently — this triggers the option to create a kingdom
  5. Choose "Create Kingdom" when prompted
  6. Set your kingdom's policies — choose laws that benefit your playstyle
  7. Recruit lords — talk to disgruntled lords of other factions. High charm + gold bribes = clan recruitment
🏆

👑 Kingdom Management Tips

  • Keep lords happy — distribute fiefs fairly. Lords who feel slighted will defect.
  • Use Influence wisely — spend it to call armies and pass laws, not on trivial votes.
  • Garrison your castles — ungarrisoned fiefs get captured immediately.
  • Make peace strategically — don't fight 3 wars simultaneously. Peace one front before opening another.
