How to Play PS4 Games on PC — ShadPS4 Emulator Status & Guide (2026)
PS4 emulation on PC in 2026. ShadPS4 emulator status, compatible games, setup guide, system requirements and scam warnings. Honest assessment.
PS4 Emulation Is Coming — But Not There Yet
ShadPS4 is the most advanced PS4 emulator in development. Created by George Moralis (one of the founders of PCSX2), it has made remarkable progress — several indie games and some AAA titles are reaching playable states. However, PS4 emulation in 2026 is still early and experimental. This guide covers the current state, what works, and how to try it.
📊 Current Status (August 2026)
- ✅ Many indie/2D games — fully playable (Hollow Knight, Undertale, Stardew Valley, Shovel Knight)
- ⚠️ Some 3D games reaching gameplay — Gravity Rush Remastered, The Last Guardian (with crashes), select smaller 3D titles
- ❌ Major AAA titles — Bloodborne, Spider-Man, God of War boot to menus/splash screens but are not playable yet
- ❌ No audio in many games — sound support is still in development
- ❌ No save states — games must be played in single sessions
⚠️ Be honest with your expectations. ShadPS4 in 2026 is roughly where RPCS3 was in 2017 — impressive progress but years away from broad AAA compatibility.

If a site asks you to complete surveys, download .exe installers, or pay money — it is a scam.
